To control our emotions we need to pass through different aspects or strategies to get out controlling them. Others usually apply the meditation techniques, relaxation, breathing exercise, yoga, prayers and lots more.

We’re a victim of self destruction if we won’t manage our feeling and observe around us what’s happening, that sometime we discovered later it’s already too late before we recover to normal situation.

Here are some ways you can overcome or control your emotions.

1. Think positive. It involves changing the way you think by replacing your negative thoughts to a rational balanced perspective to at least lessen your emotions. Instead of saying, “I can’t do it” you can replace it with say, “it’s hard but I think I can do it”. Thinking this way, pushes you to always be in the “go” attitude not the “no” not think pattern.

2. Seek expert’s assistance. As the saying goes, “More heads is better than one” is really true. If you can’t solve your problems alone, seek the help of some emotion experts. These people are trained to help specifically on this issue and you’re sure to get inputs from their expertise.

3. Count to 100. This is a true saying, if you’re angry, count 100, if your anger don’t subside count again another 100 until your anger go away. Try it, it works.

4. Use of humor. This method is perfect way to let go of some feelings like anger when you’re being downgraded or outcast. Using humor words enhances yourself to think in a more relax mode to renew your feelings of bad mode.

5. Seek Divine Guidance. No matter what sector affiliation you belong, if you believe in your God, it’s more powerful in all belief you get from any body else. Praying religiously with feelings has a great impact in your life. The power of prayer can conquer all what you desires.

1. Know yourself and be willing to make decisions that you’re such important not to resist to any positive change of yourself.

2. Make it a priority to make yourself fit in all aspects, e.g. health, mental, spiritual and social endeavors.

3. Study your personality to increase your self-awareness to evaluate your emotions and habits which ones to be rectified and which ones to put into trash.

4. Reflect all your needs as Maslow identified them as needs of esteem, affection, belongingness, achievement, self-actualization, power and control. If you understand these needs, this would affect your own behavior and influenced your interpersonal relationships with other people.

5. Develop your self analysis what are the positive aspects in your life that needs to be developed and cultivate them to further your aspirations runs smoothly without any roadblock along the way to realize them.

There are lots of possible influences you would need to be well-informed and be aware for yourself, but I only narrow it down here as a guide for you to study them and improve in areas you’re weak and cultivate your strong points.

I was born a loner and shy to mingle with people for fear of being treated as different person the way they look at me. I have to hide in my room when some visitors come to our house.

I considered myself an outcast, because I have no courage to face people. Although, even though I know that they won’t hurt me, yet deep inside me, it seems I always have to fear of being humiliated.

That was my life when I was still a kid until I reach college and even after graduation. I only have one friend who was so close to me.

This was probably because I was raised in the farm from a poor farmer and I devoted my entire teenage life in the farm during off school days helping my parents tending the farm and 5 days in schools.

It was really hard for me to adjust to associate with people, especially during social gatherings because of my sad experience.

But, later I realize I have to change course 180 degrees. A total makeover of my entire personality was the only remedy for me to gain self confidence.

Being a teacher, I initiated some drastic moves to make my changed personality manifests by way of the following…

1. Organized music club. I recruited some music lover students teaches them to play musical instruments and the school band came out as the best student band in our district. During town fiestas in our district, the school band was always hired to render music during their social gatherings.

2. Established school’s Drum and Bugle Corps. Besides the school band, I also recruited some students who wish to join the school’s drum and bugle corps.

3. School’s Newsletter contributor. Because of my interest in writing, I always contributes interesting articles on social issues, environment, self improvement, and other concerns.

4. Joined schools and community organizations. In these organizations, I was able to adjust gradually, especially that I have to participates in all discussions and help solved some problems that would crop up during meetings.

Later on, I realized that I am now adjusted from being a shy and awkward guy to an active person. I could give some advices when someone comes for help.

I became a councilor for those who have problems and sometimes the school’s guidance councilor would invite me to help him assist in giving advices to students who would become the school’s problem.

I hope this would help those who want to gain their self confidence.

Why most successful people have in common? You’ll noticed that successful people always get what they want because they have develop perseverance to reach their destinations. They don’t give up, despite some roadblocks and struggles they would encounter along the way. They focus until success is attained.

That’s the difference between successful people and the mediocre ones. Mediocre people are easily discouraged once they failed in their first attempt. They lack the determination and perseverance to face the challenges ahead of them.

1. Patience. You should have a strong character to stand tough despite some roadblock in your undertakings. You should have the determination and will power to reach your goals and dreams. Make it a habit to practice daily to help your patience at stake in obtaining your goals.

2. Minimize stress. Always act with efforts to reduce your stress. If you’ll be carried away with your work with too much concentration, you’ll end up struggling to much, and the more you’re stress. A stress-free mind lends you more to be happy and enjoy in your work. Instead of work, you enjoy like you’re only playing.

3. Overcome challenges. See yourself overcoming your challenges in spite some obstacles in your way. Avoid getting bothered to avoid your mind develop a negative pattern of thinking.

4. Focus. Maintain your focus all the time. When you’re focus, you can easily sustain your interest and directed towards your destination. When you focus, you’re able to overcome your struggle and leads you to succeed.

5. Embrace fresh thinking. Don’t allow yourself to fall into facing a blank wall. When you’re mind falls into stagnant pattern, you’ll face to struggle. Let your mind wonder wide enough to brainstorm new ideas and to keep your enthusiasm travel far to discover fresh ideas.

6. Don’t procrastinate. Keep yourself always in motion to avoid procrastination rule over yourself. It’s important to keep yourself in constant motion. Never let procrastination creep inside you by making an active effort to be active all the time.

7. Be an open minded. Make it a habit to always open your mind with fresh and new ideas to do things beneficial to everyone. With your creativity, things becomes wonderful for new discovery to come out. Enthusiasm is manifested with creative thinking.

8. Don’t mind some setbacks. When you encounter some small setback in your way, just simply turn back and direct your focus to your previous plan and you’ll find out that you easily overcome these small annoyances along the way to get your goals.

Remember, that the greatest achievements comes from defeating great struggles. When you encounter lot of obstacles and overcome them, it’s such a pleasure to celebrate when the reach the finish line. Your satisfaction increases to its peak, you manifest out to see your success.

1. Sincerity. Be yourself. Always strive to do things as sincerely as possible by letting others believe you are not deceiving them. Be sincere what you say, what you do, and anything you present yourself to other people. Don’t be plastic , as what others calls it.

2. Honesty. As the saying goes; “Be honest even if others are not, even if others will not, even if others cannot…”. Be true to your dealings with yourself and with others. Show to people that you are a person who is reputable, respectable and genuine. Use the highest level of ethics and morals in your dealings with your subordinates.

3. Humility. Don’t show yourself you’re a “know-all-better-all” of everything that makes you think you’re superior from your group or subordinates. Be modest and humble. This will lead you to be respected and appreciated for being such in a low profile status.

4. Personal integrity. Always follow your heartfelt values, and never let a situation or anyone steer you away from doing what you know is right. Be someone that people can look up to and respect and not someone who trades his or her moral values for material gains in life.

5. Courtesy. Good manners is the most precious value that a person possesses. Follow the golden rule that says, “Courtesy is the best policy”, and you’ll go a long way to success.

6. Not corrupt. The ills of a country is tainted with some corrupt officials who lead its people to bad image because of no good governance. Stand firm for what you believe is right based on your morals, values and actions. Don’t let outside forces of evil deceive you to commit a corrupt action that would lead you to fall and disaster.

7. Clarity. Always be clear about your purpose and intention in life to know what you want to accomplish. Work you way everyday to achieve your goal. Find some ways to always discover some innovative ideas. And the clarity of purpose you carry makes you all the more at peace and passionate.

8. Focus . This is one characteristic that makes you successful. When you focus, you’re very sharp directed and will never fail. Be very careful about how you spend your time and do not allow anything unproductive to set in. Always fixed your attention on your target and never get distracted by anything. However, don’t make haste, just take your time to reach your goal. Put in your entire mind and body to achieve what you want before shifting to the next goal.

9. Compassion. When someone is in distress, reach out with a genuine interest in helping alleviate their suffering. Let them feel that you care for them by giving moral support and other means to at least lessen their agony.

10. Creativity. This is the ability to use your perceptions and come up with solutions to problems. This involves getting things done in a different way or find a totally different approach for solving problem. Be always in creative thinking of how to meet the needs of people around you.
